Summer Intensive Programs

Summer Training Pathway Intensives

Ages 9+

Our Summer Training Pathway is designed to guide dancers from individual growth to ensemble performance and Youth Ensemble placement. Train with award-winning educators, including recipients of the 2026 YAGP Outstanding Teacher Award.

This summer, Ballet East offers three connected intensives, each with a clear purpose:

  • Advance Variations Summer Intensive
    June 8–26 | Ages 9+

  • Choreography and Repertory Summer Intensive
    July 13–24 | Ages 9+

  • Youth Ensemble Summer Intensive
    July 27–August 7 | Ages 9+

*All Youth Ensemble members and soloists for the 2026–2027 season will be selected from this intensive. Participation is required for dancers interested in ensemble placement.

Each program builds toward the next, giving dancers a clear pathway to grow, be challenged and experience what it’s like to be part of our award-winning Ballet East Youth Ensemble.

This summer, Ballet East is proud to offer our Advanced Variations Summer Intensive, a focused training experience designed for dancers ready to move beyond learning steps and into mastering performance.

Unlike traditional summer intensives that emphasize volume and pace, this program prioritizes individual coaching, technical refinement and artistic development through classical and contemporary variations.

Dancers will receive focused coaching in classical and contemporary solo work with advanced technical refinement, artistry development, and stage presence training. Includes video review, professional photo session and audition/competition prep in a supportive environment. Ideal for dancers seeking personalized feedback and intentional growth.

Spots are limited to ensure individualized attention.

We look forward to working closely with your dancer this summer.

Ballet East Choreography and Repertory Summer Intensive

July 13 - 24, 2026

Ages 9+ | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

This summer, Ballet East invites dancers to join our Choreography and Repertory Summer Intensive, a dynamic, performance-driven program centered on working as a collective ensemble.

Designed for dancers who thrive in group settings, this intensive focuses on learning and performing classical and contemporary repertory quickly and effectively—just as dancers are expected to do in professional rehearsal environments.

Dancers learn multiple ballets and repertory works while developing ensemble awareness, spacing, timing and musical unity. Training includes quickly learning choreography, partnering fundamentals and artistic coaching that balances individuality with group cohesion. Daily stretching, conditioning and cross-training build stamina and prevent injury. Weekly in-studio performances strengthen stage confidence. Ideal for dancers looking to improve performance skills, strengthen ensemble work and experience professional rehearsal dynamics in a cohesive group setting.

The Choreography and Repertory Intensive offers a true studio-to-stage experience, helping dancers grow not only as individuals but as essential members of an ensemble.

Ballet East Youth Ensemble Summer Intensive

Required for all dancers interested in Ballet East Youth Ensemble or Youth Ensemble 2 for the 2026/2027 season.

This immersive intensive is designed for dancers who are ready to experience what it truly means to train, rehearse and perform as part of a professional-caliber ensemble. All ensemble works for the upcoming season will be created during this intensive, and all ensemble members and soloists for the 2026–2027 season will be selected exclusively from this program.

  • Establish expectations, work ethic, and artistic standards for the season ahead

The Full Experience

At its core, the program at Ballet East is a carefully curated 10+ year journey designed to facilitate the complete realization of powerful cognitive, technical, artistic, emotional and social skills that form the foundation for your child’s future. We place an enormous amount of importance on the continuation of your child’s education and the consistency of their training. Due to the structure of the curriculum, it is not permitted for families taking part in summer studies to “pause” their child’s progress and tuition to rejoin mid-session due to vacation or travel. The curriculum is based on sequential learning; therefore, if your child decides to drop in mid-session, they will be asked to continue during the following session.
