Our Open Adult program is carefully designed to improve flexibility, reduce stress, and increase overall wellness for former or aspiring dancers at all ability levels. Every class is educational and challenging for working professionals and anyone, including beginners, interested in dance.
Adult Beginner Ballet Class No Experience Required
Mondays & Wednesdays @ 7:00 - 8:00 pm
A new Adult Beginner Ballet Class is now open for those who have always dreamed of dancing but never had the chance to begin. Designed especially for adults with little or no previous experience, this class offers a welcoming and supportive environment to explore the fundamentals of classical ballet.
The class focuses on basic technique, posture, flexibility, strength, and musicality, while encouraging confidence, body awareness, and self-expression. Whether students are returning to movement, seeking a new form of exercise, or fulfilling a lifelong dream, this class meets them where they are.
No prior dance background is necessary. All bodies, ages, and genders are welcome.

Adult Intermediate Ballet Class Training That Fits Real Life

An Adult Intermediate Ballet Class is now open for adults who work in other fields and want to keep ballet as part of their routine. Designed for those with prior experience, this class offers a focused and rewarding way to move, train, and reset without the pressure of a professional track.
This class is ideal for adults with busy schedules who want a structured, meaningful workout that challenges both body and mind. It moves beyond basics, offering combinations that build strength, coordination, and endurance, while still respecting the realities of adult bodies and daily responsibilities.
Whether you work in healthcare, education, business, or the arts, this class provides a space to disconnect from the day, reconnect with movement, and enjoy disciplined training in a supportive environment.
This class is for adults who want to:
• Stay active in a structured and engaging way
• Challenge themselves physically and mentally
• Maintain or rebuild technique without pressure
• Enjoy ballet as part of a balanced lifestyle
Previous ballet experience is required.
Adult Ballet
This class covers basic ballet positions, steps, and vocabulary by focusing on the student's awareness of proper posture and body alignment. Standing barre work and center floor exercises enhance coordination, strength, balance, and flexibility. Participants also develop a sense of musical awareness and movement quality.
Progressing Ballet Technique
PBT uses equipment to help develop an understanding of your body in space while strengthening your muscles. A fit ball (provided by Ballet East) is the central apparatus used in PBT. Using the fit ball improves your proprioception, which is your body’s understanding of where you are in space.
You will develop a repertoire of exercises, some that correlate to ballet steps and others for posture and general placement. Many PBT exercises involve lying on your back with your legs on the fit ball and your body lifted in a plank position. Other equipment for PBT includes a Theraband to provide resistance and pressure and a smaller ball to help engage the inner thigh squeeze!
As with any technique introduced to our adult ballet students, PBT is delivered using a steady approach with lots of support and guidance, building strength through your body in a progressive way that is easily manageable for your stage of learning.

FAQ

We welcome all adults regardless of whether or not they have had former dance training. We only ask that you keep a positive attitude, open mind, and be ready to move!

We recommend bringing a yoga mat, socks or ballet slippers, and a water bottle.

We ask adults to wear something they are comfortable moving in. What you would wear to the gym, like leggings and a tank top, is appropriate. If you have longer hair, we recommend you pull it back into a ponytail, braid, etc. Clips may not be comfortable for floor work.

We typically follow the Palm Beach County Academic school calendar for extended holidays. Please refer to your client portal, which will be available once you enroll for a complete list of school closures.
